CNC Lathe Operator (full-time 2nd shift)Machines specific packaging machine parts to correct size, tolerances, and shapes utilizing the engine lathe.  Should have at least two years of formal education in the machinist field.  Should also have solid on the job experience..


CNC Machinist (full-time 3rd shift) – This position is responsible for all CNC machining functions.  Applicant must be familiar and able to perform programming functions and machine set up on all CNC Milling machines.  Applicant must have formal training or education in CNC equipment.  Be able to read and interpret machine drawings and blueprints.  A strong Machine Shop background is desirable.

Corporate Standards Coordinator (full-time 1st shift)The Corporate Standards Coordinator’s position is responsible for coordinating, communicating, publishing and researching engineering related standards for Douglas Machine Inc., on a corporate and business unit level.

Education and/or Experience:
This position requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a business and/or computer and/or an engineering related field.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Consideration will be given to relative job experience.  A background in electrical and mechanical engineering is beneficial.  Other required qualifications/skill sets include:

  • Packaging machine industry experience.
  • A demonstrated record of interest/experience in the standards process.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principals including mechanical and electrical functions and concepts relative to the packaging machine industry.
  • Able to read and interpret 2D and 3D design assembly and detail drawings.
  • Possesses a demonstrated excellence in technical writing ability including desktop publishing skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational, communication, and research skills.
  • Experience in working with indented product structures and bills of materials, including document control.

Electrical Engineer (full-time 1st shift)The Engineer II position is responsible for projects of considerable scope and complexity.  This position interacts frequently with other internal professionals across functional lines within the business cell and also interacts with external customers and suppliers on routine technical issues as required.  In addition, the Engineer II position may exercise considerable influence over other functional areas to resolve problems to complete assigned work on schedule.

Engineering Technician I (full-time 1st shift)This position works under general engineering supervision and follows established procedures.  Work is periodically monitored by the Engineering Manger or Engineer and reviewed upon completion for soundness of technical judgment, overall accuracy, and thoroughness in meeting project technical requirements.  The Technician I may occasionally work with little or no supervision for extended periods.
This position is typically responsible for projects of a variety of scope and complexity within the company, which requires a high level of accuracy, accountability, and decision-making ability.This position has frequent contact with other inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine technical issues.  This position represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects.

  • A minimum of a two-year technical degree in a related field and four years experience or   high school diploma/GED and eight years of demonstrated work experience in a related field.  Prefer experience within the packaging industry.

Field Service Technician level II or III (full-time 1st shift)The Field Service Technician II has the skills and the knowledge to install, service, and repair Douglas Machine automated packaging machinery.   Service work may include, but not limited to performing routine maintenance, repairs, modification, machine setup, or training of customer personnel.  In addition, this position requires extensive travel to customer sites. 

Qualifications:

    • Must be able and willing to apply required customer service skills.
    • Must have the skills to produce and submit complete and accurate trip and expense reports in a timely manner.
    • Must have good mechanical and electrical background in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the packaging manufacturing industry.
    • Must have knowledgeable of automated machine controls.
    • Must be able to read and follow blueprints, machine drawings, and electrical drawings.
    • Must be proficient with use of a laptop computer and related software.
    • Must be able to use a variety of machine and hand tools.
    • Must be able and willing to travel a minimum 75% of the time.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Must have a two year technical degree in a related field and one year of demonstrated work experience in the packaging manufacturing industry or a high school diploma and three years of demonstrated work experience in the packaging manufacturing industry or related technical field.

    Mechanical Engineer (full-time 1st shift)The Engineer I position is responsible for producing and reconfiguring complete machine design packages using existing technology.  This position interacts frequently with internal customers and occasionally with external customers.  In addition, this position’s area of influence will focus primarily on routine projects assigned to him or her within their own department.

    Qualifications:

    • Possess strong creativity and problem solving skills.

    This position normally requires a BS degree or its evaluated equivalent, which include applying technical solutions to packaging industry requirements.  Technical knowledge of Douglas Machine Inc.’s product lines and Douglas Machine Inc.’s sales procedures is desired.  Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be proficient at using a personal computer.  Must have sound trade knowledge and have demonstrated above average organizational skills and leadership skills.  Must be familiar with the Douglas documentation system.  Must be capable of reading blueprints of packaging machinery.  Must have a range of computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, E-mail, and internet/intranet.  Must be familiar with accessing data files on the AS400.


    Project Engineer (full-time 1st shift)The Engineer III position is an experienced engineer who is recognized as a leader within the company in his/her area of expertise.  This position plays a critical role in improving and establishing new engineering practices and standards throughout the company.  This position also provides direction and guidance to other less experienced engineers and frequently interacts with other industry professionals. In addition, the Engineer III position requires frequent interactions with internal and external customers.

    Research Associate (full-time 1st shift)The Research Associate position is a multifunction role design to support the identifying and developing of new applications for ARRAY tape as well as supporting existing applications.  This position interacts frequently with other internal professionals across engineering, manufacturing, and service.  The technician may also interact with external customers and suppliers on routine technical issues as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong documentation, test and problem solving skills

    Sheet Metal Fabricator/Laser Operator (full-time 3rd shift) Performs the shaping and forming of a variety of sheet metal components using shear punches, punch press, and spot welder.  Individual should have two years of formal education in a sheet metal fabrication area.  Also should have some on the job experience in metalworking and fabrication.
